Hey guys!
If you're planning a trip to Marrakesh, let me tell you something real quick—staying in a riad is a must. Seriously. Don’t just book any hotel or apartment. A riad is where all the magic happens. It’s the best way to feel the heart of the city.
During my stay, I picked Riad Samir Privilege Boutique Hotel & Spa, and wow... it totally made my Marrakesh trip even more special. Let me share a bit of what it was like!
A Little Hidden Gem in the Medina
Getting to Riad Samir was already an adventure. I followed narrow little streets (yes, I got lost for a sec—totally normal in the Marrakesh medina 😅), and suddenly found this cute wooden door. From the outside, it looked simple… but when they opened it, I was like: hold up, is this a romantic movie set?!
Inside was a calm turquois pool, tiled floors & walls, and natural & fresh vibes. Super peaceful, which is perfect after all the hustle and bustle outside.

Real Moroccan Vibes
What I loved most was how authentic it felt. Everything—from the patterns on the tiles to the cozy lighting and carved wooden doors—gave off real Moroccan charm. It wasn’t fancy in a hotel kind of way, but it felt warm, pretty, and so homey.
The staff? Super kind and helpful. I arrived sweaty and lost, and they welcomed me with mint tea like I was family.
My Room: Simple, Clean, Cozy
My room had everything I needed—comfy bed, air-con (bless!), and all the little Moroccan touches. It was clean, quiet, and just felt really nice to come back to after a long day exploring.
No need for over-the-top luxury here—it’s all about the vibe, and Riad Samir nailed it.
Breakfast With a View
Mornings were the best. I had breakfast on the rooftop—fresh orange juice, Moroccan pancakes (so good!), eggs, and coffee, all while looking out at Marrakesh’s rooftops. It was a whole vibe.
The Location = 10/10
The riad is right in the heart of the medina, close to Ben Youssef Madrasa, Bahia Palace, and a bunch of cool spots. It’s super easy to explore on foot, and even if you get lost (you probably will!), locals are nice and happy to help.

If you want to feel the real Marrakesh, you’ve gotta stay in a riad, and I honestly recommend Riad Samir and you can book here. It’s affordable, beautiful, and full of heart. I left feeling like I stayed with a Moroccan family instead of just booking a place to sleep.
You can also checking on other riad selection here.
Let me know if you’re heading to Marrakesh soon, or if you’ve already stayed in a riad before—I’d love to hear how your experience was!
Until the next adventure,
